HELEN FORD WALLACE: JOURNALISM CHOSE ME

UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA KAPPA ALPHA THETA
For the University of Oklahoma Kappa Alpha Theta, I served as a producer, cinematographer, and editor for a project aimed at persuading future pledge classes to join Theta. Completed in August 2022, my role involved planning and executing film sessions with over 50 girls. Utilizing a Canon T7i camera with 50mm and 85mm lenses, I captured footage for the project. The challenge was to complete the filming within two weeks before recruitment began. Through this experience, I learned valuable skills in time management and coordinating large-scale projects, ensuring the video effectively showcased the benefits of joining Kappa Alpha Theta.
WE ARE NORMAN
For Norman Public Schools, I worked as both cinematographer and editor on a project aimed at promoting enrollment in the district. Completed in April 2023, the video was intended for use on the website and social media platforms to attract potential students. Using Canon T6i and T7i cameras, along with a DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone, I captured footage of various events that showcased NPS as a comprehensive district. With over 15,000 students spread across 17 elementary schools, two high schools, and two other academies, my task was to portray the district as a whole. This project honed my time management skills as I navigated through different events, ensuring I captured moments that would resonate with the audience and encourage enrollment.
UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA
DANCE MARATHON
This promotional video was created for the University of Oklahoma Dance Marathon, with the aim of generating more donations. Completed in March 2020, it was produced, filmed, and edited by me, serving as the cinematographer and editor. Shot using a Canon T7i camera and edited with Procreate and Final Cut Pro, this video was a collaborative effort completed under tight deadlines. My contribution included working with a team to create the video within an 8-hour timeframe, ensuring it was ready to be showcased at the final ceremony. This project provided valuable experience in teamwork and quick turnaround, highlighting the importance of effective communication and efficient production processes.
